Watch ‘The Female athlete’ webinar from Tuesday february 7th 2023 below
We are delighted to bring our webinar ‘The Female Athlete’ - for you for the new 2023 season.
In this webinar we will discuss some of the issues that are specific to our female athletes. These are the issues we probably don’t talk about enough and their roles on performance.
The webinar will cover
Performance, injury and nutrition based issues around RED-S (Relative energy deficiency in sport).
Performance, injury and training periodisation around the menstrual cycle.
We are delighted to have Fiona Armstrong (chartered physiotherapist) and Sarah Nagle (dietitian & performance nutritionist) presenting the webinar.
Fiona works as a musculoskeletal & sports physiotherapist in SPARC. She works mainly with elite & amateur athletes (Including Irish Sailing, hockey and triathletes). She was lead physiotherapist with Dublin Camogie for the past number of seasons.
Sarah is a CORU registered dietitian in addition to her sports specific performance nutrition work with Lonngford GAA.
AT SPARC, our passion is to help our athletes achieve. We understand what sports means to our clients and we know how passionate they are about their sport. We create an environment that is highly engaging and people are encouraged to maximise their potential.
EMPOWERMENT AND EDUCATION ARE FUNDAMENTAL AIMS OF THE PROGRAMME, AT SPARC we aim to
Teach athletes to understand their body and the importance of every component of what makes them a better athlete.
Learning to maximise both strength and mobility which are key components of a positive athletic experience.
We believe robust athletes are better athletes
We believe in maximising athletic performance for our female athletes and we hope this webinar will help those who attend!
