Dr Kevin Cronin

musculoskeletal ultrasound sonographer 

Dr. Kevin Cronin is a graduate of University College Dublin.  In 2017, he commenced the role as a full time university lecturer in University College Dublin. He is actively involved in lecturing, assessment and research supervision of students in the School of Medicine, University College Dublin. In 2021, he commenced the role of programme lead for the MSc Ultrasound programme in University College Dublin.

Internationally he is involved in many multidisciplinary lecturing and research activities. He is a musculoskeletal ultrasound guest lecturer in Brunel University, London. He has delivered presentations at many international conferences such as the European Congress of Radiology and for the British Medical Ultrasound Society.

In 2023, Kevin completed his PhD at University College Dublin. His research assessed hamstring injuries with ultrasound in professional rugby players (Leinster Rugby). He has worked with intercounty GAA athletes, olympic athletes and professional football players (Liverpool FC, Crystal Palace FC and Shamrock Rovers FC).

He has a keen interest in sports injuries and utilises medical ultrasound to establish a diagnosis, and also monitor tissue healing during the rehabilitation period to give the athlete the best possible chance of returning to play fit and healthy, minimising the risk of a recurrent injury.
