Andrew durkan
musculoskeletal & sports PHYSIOTHERAPIST
(Bsc in Physiotherapy), CORU & MISCP- Chartered Physiotherapist)
Andy is a CORU-registered Chartered Physiotherapist with a BSc in Physiotherapy, built on an earlier BSc in Sports Therapy — a dual background that means he sees both the injury and the athlete behind it. He's also a qualified Pilates Instructor, which lets him blend hands-on physio with movement-based rehab for a fully integrated, evidence-based approach to recovery and long-term injury prevention.
He has a particular interest in running-related injuries, rehabilitation, and performance — and that interest isn't just academic. As a 2:40 marathon runner himself, Andy knows from the inside what training through niggles feels like, what it takes to come back from injury, and how to balance ambition with smart loading. That first-hand understanding of the physical and mental demands of endurance sport translates directly into how he treats: practical, athlete-specific care that works in the real world, not just on paper.
Andy works with people from every background — recreational runners chasing a first 10k, footballers and GAA players returning from a tough season, weekend gym-goers, office workers dealing with stubborn back and neck pain, and competitive endurance athletes targeting a PB. Whatever your starting point, the goal is the same: helping you recover from injury, build genuine strength, move more efficiently, and return to consistent training with confidence in your body again.
